Student Diogo Gomes Wins Most Innovative Research Award at ICQEM 2023

On June 13, Diogo Gomes, a final-year student of the Integrated Master’s in Industrial Engineering and Management, won the Most Innovative Research Award at the 6th International Conference on Quality Engineering and Management (ICQEM). The conference was held on June 13 and 14 in Girona, Spain, and is one of the most prestigious in the field of Quality internationally

On June 13, Diogo Gomes, a final-year student of the Integrated Master’s in Industrial Engineering and Management, won the Most Innovative Research Award at the 6th International Conference on Quality Engineering and Management (ICQEM). The conference was held on June 13 and 14 in Girona, Spain, and is one of the most prestigious in the field of Quality internationally.
 
Diogo Gomes presented his work titled “Use of Control Charts to Define Diagnostic and Activities Reference Levels for PET/CT Studies in Adults: a Local Study.” About the experience, the student declared, “It was a great privilege for me to present my work and to be so recognized for it, thus being able to represent DEMI and NOVA FCT alongside other institutions.”
The student made sure to express his gratitude to Professor Ana Sofia Matos, his supervisor, stating: “I want to give a big thank you to Professor Ana Sofia Matos, my supervisor, for all her support and dedication, which made all the difference in this experience!”
 
This year’s ICQEM featured over 100 abstracts, 71 full papers, and had speakers from 25 different countries. It is important to note that the conference is indexed by Scopus, reinforcing its importance and relevance in the field of Quality.
