CFD-I
The Computational fluid dynamics Iaboratory provides essential support to Teaching, Research & Development (R&D) and Consultancy activities in the field of of Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics. CFD-I Laboratory uses open-source, commercial simulation software and internally developed codes to study multiphysics, multiscale, steady and unsteady flow problems. Our research has been focused on the development, validation, and application of novel simulation techniques of internal flows, heat transfer, free-surface flows, hydrodynamics, turbulence flows, FSI, and multi-body dynamics. We have developed and utilized Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) and large-eddy simulation (LES) techniques to study these phenomena. The laboratory provides the software and computational infrastructure to support several Doctoral , Master’s and Bachelor’s students. Ongoing works include topics such as Fluid-Structure Interaction, Wave Energy Converters (WECs), Hydrodynamics, Hemodynamics.
