The Aerodynamics Laboratory provides essential support to Teaching, Research & Development (R&D) and Consultancy activities in the field of Aerodynamics. This laboratory has an approximate area of 160 m2 and it is equipped with a Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel and a wide range of instrumentation for developing laboratory experiments (e.g., hot-wire anemometer and pressure probes). A smaller Blow-type Wind Tunnel can be made available. There is also a setup for the study of jet-flows. These equipments have also been available for teaching at the Bachelor and Master levels.
EQUIPMENTS AVAILABLE IN OUR LABORATORY INCLUDE:
Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel (test section 1×1.5 m2, maximum flow speed of 105 km/h)
Blow-type Wind Tunnel (0.6×0.4 m2)
Anemometer Package for wire- and film-probes
Pressure probes, Betz-type manometers and traverse mechanisms
Pressure scanning system for high-rate sampling (Initium)
USB multi-function data aquisition- DIGILENT Analog Discovery 2
THIS LABORATORY ALSO SUPPORTS WORKS DONE BY MASTER’S AND BACHELOR’S STUDENTS.
Ongoing dissertations include topics such as Aerodynamics, Internal aerodynamics (confined flows) and Fluid-Structure Interaction
