Kick-Off of the EC Valve Project: Innovative Monitoring of Industrial Valves

19.12.2024

On December 16, 2024, the kick-off meeting for the EC Valve – Online Monitoring System for Internal Leaks in Industrial Valves project took place at the NOVA FCT’s non-destructive testing laboratory.

Officially launched on November 4, 2024, the project is funded by PITD + PR Lisboa under the MPr-2023-7 – SIID – Business R&D – Co-Promotion Operations – Other Territories – Phase 2 call. It benefits from financial support assigned to operation no. 17420, with the code COMPETE2030-FEDER-01196700.
The consortium behind the project includes ISPT – Industrial Services, S.A. (main promoter) and Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (co-promoter). The total budget allocated for this initiative amounts to €1,194,133.12.

The EC Valve project aims to develop an advanced technological solution for detecting and quantifying internal leaks in industrial valves. The innovative system will combine acoustic emission technology with Machine Learning algorithms, enabling continuous monitoring and predictive maintenance. Additionally, the project will carry out a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to evaluate the environmental and economic impacts of the proposed solution, ensuring its sustainability and efficiency within the industrial sector.

Through this initiative, the consortium seeks to position itself at the forefront of technological innovation, enhancing operational efficiency and contributing to environmental sustainability in the industrial valve sector.
