The Blue Economy has the potential to generate growth and employment in the coming years, but it requires an adequate supply of blue skills. In response to this requirement, a new International Master’s in Maritime Logistics (MML) has been developed by the Portuguese Naval Academy (Naval School) and the NOVA School of Science and Technology (NOVA FCT), in collaboration with partners from the EU’s MarLEM project.

The M4ML project aims to promote and support bilateral exchange between Portugal and Norway of students/trainees, teachers, lecturers, and researchers in the field of MML. The project was created by a consortium composed of two Portuguese universities (Naval School & NOVA FCT), a Norwegian University (NTNU), and a Portuguese company (Qualiseg).

The main objectives of the project are:

– Provide mobility and exchange opportunities to Portuguese and Norwegian students/trainees, as well as teachers, lecturers, and researchers in the field of MML;
– Contribute to improving the curricula of Logistics, Engineering, and Maritime Management at the involved academic institutions;
– Contribute to the development of innovative learning materials in the field of maritime logistics engineering and management curricula;
– Encourage mutual learning between European industries and academics in the field of the Blue Economy. For more information, see the project brochure or project web page.
