3D Printing Center for Health wins Social Responsibility category of “The Best of Technological Portugal”

3D Printing Center for Health was the big winner in the Social Responsibility category of the 16th edition of the "The Best & Biggest in Technological Portugal" awards promoted by Exame Informática.

“We are honoured and proud to receive this award, which fully reflects our mission! We dedicate it to our clinical partners and to the people to whom we develop devices and their families who inspire us, every day, to do more and better,” stated Cláudia Quaresma, professor and researcher at the Department of Physics  of NOVA School of Science and Technology and coordinator of the centre.
 
Founded by LIBPhys, UNIDEMI and by FCT FabLab (Powered by US Embassy), this non-profit centre has as its core objective to promote, coordinate and apply technological development activities with social impact in the area of health and functional independence, using 3D printing, through the integration of interdisciplinary knowledge in the areas of Medicine and Engineering.
 
Exame Informática annually distinguishes entrepreneurs, innovators, companies and institutions in the areas of Science and Technology that stood out in Portugal. The award ceremony took place on 29 November, at the EPIC Sana Marquês in Lisbon.
